    Staffordshire Regiment Numbered Buttons Wanted (38th, 64th, 80th & 98th)

    Hi everyone,

I hope you don't mind me using your forum to ask if any of you would consider selling me numbered buttons of the Staffordshire Regiment - 38th, 64th, 80th & 98th of Foot.

I am a former Major in the Staffords and am a big collector of militaria connected to the regiment and I am not a dealer. I've seen a few great numbered buttons posted on your website and am hoping that the owners might be prepared to sell some to me. I'll pay top prices for them.

You can contact me on my direct work line - 01202 449717 - where there's voice mail set up if I'm unavailable.

Thanks. Great work, great site - I'm really interested in everything found in the Colchester area, having been based there 3 times in my Army career.

    Mike

No problem Mike, that what the site is for finders, collectors etc. Can you post a blog of the Staffordshire Regiment as the guys would be really interested in the history and back ground of the regiment. Big Smile

Thanks for your response. I'll post a potted history of the Staffords shortly - I've got 302 years to cover, so it won't be easy! The Staffords cease to exist on 1 September when they become 3 Mercian. All part of the latest 'bigger is better' MOD / Government policy. Oh well, there you go!

The picture of the 64th buton is great - exactly what I'm looking for. Being cheeky  - any chance of this coming my way?

Another Staffordshire Regiment Mike we found. I will see which member found the other button and see if they want to part with it.

This looks like an other ranks brass King's Crown (post 1902) button of the South Staffords. It was in use until 1958/9 when the South Staffords amalgamated with the North Staffords to form the Staffordshire Regiment. It is a common button.
